Backstab[]

Info[]

While hidden and close to an NPC, the attack symbol turns orange and displays a backstab option which causes large damage when executed successfully.
Roman, Arica, and Boris one-hit kill any enemy, including armored military units.
Be aware that backstabs from cover create a lot of noise which can be heard from two floors away, which will draw more enemies if you're not careful.

Tactics[]

Waiting for NPCs to wander past isn't always an option, sometimes you need to lure enemies which can be achieved in multiple ways:

  1. Running or making noise while remaining out of enemies line of sight will cause them to investigate the sound, this offers a backstab where the enemy comes to you.
  2. If you cannot remain out of the line of sight then you can run away towards a room and close the door immediately after you enter, then sneak to the hiding spot. If done successfully the enemy should almost instantly say something in regards to your being hidden (ie: 'I'll find you!' 'Come out!' etc)
  3. Sneaking up behind an enemy facing the opposite direction (Arica's Sneaks Quietly is ideal for this) and backstabbing. (Enemies sometimes still say something even If one-hit killed, alerting other hostiles.)
